Allow plenty of time to see agricultural exhibits that show various aspects of homestead living at Heritage Farm, our four-acre working homestead.
Amidst our animal pens, pastures, raised garden beds, horse-farmed field, vineyard, berry patch and orchard you’ll find dozens of displays and demonstrations. Don’t miss the horse farming and sheepdog demonstrations, two of our most popular attractions at the Fair.
See horse harnessing, horse-farming demonstrations, a horse-drawn farm implement display, sheep shearing, farm animal and poultry pens, milking demonstrations, sheepdog demonstrations and more. The demonstration schedule lists times for each day.
Our vegetable garden contains 40 double-dug raised beds which are an actual family garden in the fall phase. Learn about companion planting, composting, cover crops, winter vegetables and cold frames.
See how we catch and store rainwater to water our raised-bed vegetable garden. The catchment system includes cisterns, a water tower, a windmill and a drip irrigation system.
Watch as we press fresh apples into apple cider with a hand-operated press.
Inside of our restored 1830’s log cabin, Brazos Valley Cheese presents a wide variety of specialty cheese including smoked gouda, smoked mozzarella, marinated feta, marinated mozzarella, roasted garlic montasio, blueberry havarti, Mediterranean cheddar and pesto jack .
Come inside this restored timber-frame home for the 15-minute video “A Glimpse of Brazos de Dios” shown continuously throughout the Fair.
Our Farm & Garden Center houses seeds, supplements and tools for homesteading, gardening and landscaping, as well as feed and supplies for small livestock and poultry raising. Our Garden Center is open year-round.
