Getting ready for a new demonstration

Jenni and Brandon are getting ready to show how raku pottery is made, and I managed to make it over to the demonstration pavilion tonight to watch. Raku is made by wood-firing one lone piece in a small kiln to 1,100°, removing the pot from the kiln while it still hot, and laying some sort of fiber (and in this case, sugar)  against the sizzling clay until it scorches and marks the pot. That obviously makes for some beautiful, one of a kind pieces!

The demonstration will be at 12:00 noon each day of the Fair. Stop and see it!
